Kuendelea Kujielimisha

M/kiti Reading Berkshire.

I’m delighted to announce that RCVYS has managed to secure an exciting opportunity for FREE Youthwork Management Training for groups that work with young people here in Reading.

The Management Development Programme (MDP) is fully funded by the Children’s Workforce Development Council (CWDC), and run by the FPM Training Consortium. More information about the MDP is included in the brochure attached.
It is ideally aimed at managers/supervisors that lead a team of people, and are working with young people. They should also be wanting to look outside their own organisation to develop collaborative ways of working to improve the outcomes of the young people they’re working with. It is NOT suitable for trainee or inexperienced youthworkers, individuals new into management/supervision, and for those who are not regularly working with young people.

The course itself runs over 6 full days - 2 concurrent days each month for 3 consecutive months - and attendance is compulsory for each day. The dates are:
·
Module One: Thursday 13th & Friday 14th January 2011

· Module Two: Thursday 10th & Friday 11th February 2011

· Module Three: Thursday 10th & Friday 11th March 2011

These dates will all be held at a venue in Reading.
The course will be run in 6 parts in a mixture of direct teaching/input, discussion and group work, and will cover the following areas:

Module One - Managing my role
Module Two - Managing my team

Module Three - My role in managing the wider service

Sample programme content documents for each module are also attached. The RCVYS Exec have been very keen that the content of the training is delivered flexibly to reflect the local context here in Reading, and so the exact content may alter slightly.
A similar course was run last summer mainly for staff from the Reading Borough Council Integrated Youth Development Service, although 4 individuals from VCF sector organisations did manage to also get on the training. From speaking to them recently, they all felt that the training was of a very high standard, and would be very useful for individuals who would match the person spec I’ve highlighted above. They all felt that the trainer was excellent, and so we have been fortunate enough to have secure their services for our course! The course will be facilitated by Annette Goldband who is an experienced facilitator and trainer in this area, and has come highly recommended.

This course is also able to be externally accredited by the Chartered Management Institute, although an additional fee will be required. This can be decided on nearer the time.

Spaces are limited on this training programme. Consequently, we will be operating an application process with a view to ensuring that the largest number of organisations possible can benefit. Multiple applications from a single organisation will be accepted, but to ensure that a fair mix of organisations are represented, you should be aware that not all of your applications may be successful.
To apply for a place on this course, please use the attached Application Form and return it to info@rcvys.org.uk by Friday 3rd September 2010. Successful applicants will then be notified. The place on the training must then be guaranteed by providing a deposit of £100 per place. This deposit will be returned on completion of the course.
This is an excellent opportunity, and one which I hope many of you will be able to take advantage of.
If you have any questions about this training, please contact me using any of the methods below.

Maneno ya Critics chini

Freeman and Ken have once again dipped into the absurd with their new production Beak Street - a dark comedy of noir shadows, mean streets and gangster cats, where only one thing is really certain:cats , they aint known for their loyalty
A testament to freeman's faith in his imagination and ours'

( Time Out Critcs' Choice ****)

This is a fine and powerful play that pulls no punches'
(Chiswick Times)
Iron-rod narrative and polished script.. imaginative staging.. alll makes Beak Street excellent value for money'
